Documents for Arrival at Cancun Airport
A valid U.S. Passport is necessary to pass through customs at Cancun Airport.
Your passport will also be used to acquire a tourist card, which must be obtained in order to enter Mexico.

Taxi prices in Cancún are clearly set by zone, although keeping track of what's in which zone can take some doing. The minimum fare within the Hotel Zone is $5 per ride, making it one of the most expensive taxi areas in Mexico. In addition, taxis operating in the Hotel Zone feel perfectly justified in having a discriminatory pricing structure
 
Cancun Departure Tax
There is a "Departure Tax” of about $18.00 US per person but this tax is usually included in your airline ticket and you don't need to pay it again. If you are not sure please contact your airline before you leave to Cancun and ask them if the Mexican Departure Tax is already included.
